The fool farmer and the three tricksters
There was a fool farmer who was presented with a buffalo by the king for his good deeds. On his way home, he was followed by three tricksters. The first tricksters spoke to him, “What a nice goat you have there. “The farmer replied, “This isn’t a goat, Sir. this is a buffalo.
Then the second trickster pretended to pass by near them. he then said, “Excuse me for hearing you, gentlemen, but the man is right. What you’ve got there is a goat. “The fool farmer became confuse. He wondered whether those two men were right. Anyway, the farmer excused himself and continued his trip. Not far, he met with the third trickster, not knowing that he was also a friend of the two men he met before. The third trickster said to the farmer, “Such a fine goat! I am willing to pay one gold coin for it.” the fool farmer thought that three men couldn’t be wrong. it must be a goat and not a buffalo, and one gold coin is quite an expensive price for a goat. He then agreed to sell his ‘Goat’.
Arriving home, the farmer happily told his wife the story. His wife replied, “What a foolish man you are. The king has presented you with a buffalo and not a goat, and it is five gold coins in value! you have been tricked by those three men !”
